In this project, we explored the Harry Potter series using text mining techniques, natural language processing and visualized the network of the leading characters in all 7 books. Moreover, an interactivce webpage was created to mimic the job of the "sorting hat" in the original novel.
As a world famous novel series, the Harry Potter written by J.K.Rowling has influed a generation of people. In the past, we read novels by our eyes, now thanks to the development of Machine Learning, NLP methods and other advanced data science techniques, we are able to be more than a ordinary reader. We hope that this data science project could provide Harry Potter lovers a new persepctive to the series and enocuorage more and more fans to join us in digging deeper through this great work and also any other great literature of our time.
